General Manager, Copper River Princess Lodge -Copper Center, AK

Our Administration department at the Copper River Princess Lodge is looking for a General Manager to join their team. This position is integral part of the team and will carry out management responsibilities in their operation in accordance with the Company’s policies, objectives, and applicable government laws and regulations. This person will provide leadership, goal setting, and direction for local team(s) for safety/security of guests/teams(s), and property. This person will also provide direction in the areas of finance, sales, team performance, and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for for managing: hotel, sales, food & beverage, administrative, security, employee housing, and maintenance departments processes and activities.

Monitors assigned departments to identify trends and will implement procedures to maximize sales and guest satisfaction.

Responsible for life and safety of guests and employees of hotel operation on property.

Responsible for setting the financial forecast and managing operation to achieve financial goals.

Responsible for guest service, both internal and external, managing to service metrics.

Responsible for the performance management of assigned employee team.

Will be responsible to oversee the hiring and management of their seasonal team (up to 500 employees).

Will be responsible for managing to RAAS standards.

Other duties as assigned including administrative tasks.

Requirements:

This job normally requires a professional level of knowledge through the completion of a Bachelors degree, Hospitality Management, Tourism Management or Food and Beverage majors preferred. Demonstration of directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.

This job normally requires six years of progressively responsible positions in hotel management. Demonstrated management experience in a business environment is required with obvious Leadership experience in team settings.

Proficiency in the use of computer business application, with working knowledge of computerized hotel reservations, point-of-service and accounting systems.

Must be able to travel up to 25%

Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. May also need to stand for long periods of time.

Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.

Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds.

May be requested to work a different shift including working beyond normal business hours and/or on weekends occasionally to support business needs, projects, and/or operations.

Must pass a pre-employment background check.

Must be able to legally work in the United States.

Abilities, Knowledge and Skills:

Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.

Ability to organize work, handle multi-tasking, maintain attention to detail and accuracy (a must), and work under pressure to meet deadlines

Maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.

Ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences. Will collaborate with both Shoreside and Shipboard teams.

Ability to work with all levels of management, employees and customers.

Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including all company health and safety standards.
