SUMMARY:

Globe Composite Solutions, LLC (Globe) is seeking a Senior Estimating & Pricing Analystto support our fast growing company. Globe is a recognized leader in designing and manufacturing cost-effective composite solutions for military and industrial applications. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is located at Globe’s design & technology center in Stoughton, Massachusetts (25 miles south of Boston).

The Senior Estimating & Pricing Analyst will have a significant impact on the company’s success, by maintaining a high level of analytical insight into manufacturing, operational expenses, product pricing, and business unit profitability to support Globe’s business needs. The Senior Estimating & Pricing Analyst will analyze customer requests for proposal (RFPs) and provide thorough analysis leading to the submission of current, accurate and complete cost and pricing proposal to key customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop understanding of product manufacturing, staffing, material acquisition, and operating processes

Estimating material and labor costs (manufacturing and engineering) based on Request for Proposal (RFP) data requirements requested by prospective customers

Compiling cost, schedule, and technical elements in the development of proposals in accordance with Request for Proposal (RFP) specifications

Analyzing specifications, including sketches, blueprints, bills of material, or sample layouts

Calculating production costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data

Collecting cost data from functional representatives and subcontractors

Preparing cost reports and presenting results to management and customer representatives

Work directly on production floor with technicians to create and refine cost models

Supporting risk and opportunity assessment, quantification, and analysis during the proposal process

Supporting Pricing & Estimating team initiatives and continuous improvement

Participating as a member of the contract negotiating team

Understanding the requirements for supplier price/cost analysis

Interacting with other functional areas (Supply Chain, Program Management, Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, and Business Development) to develop strategies in support of proposal requirements and deadlines.

Assist / lead special projects, ad hoc analysis etc.

Required Experience:

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Aerospace/defense industry and business management experience

FAR/DFARS regulations experience

Working knowledge of material pricing techniques

Proactive, self-motivated individual who can handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication skills, both oral and written

Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task a must

Experience in pricing, finance, contracts, business and/or operations

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools/applications, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel

Prior experience in a manufacturing environment

Experience with ERP/MRP systems is preferred

Strong understanding of internal controls

Ability to work with minimal supervision

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

MBA is a plus

Minimum 4 years of estimating and/or cost accounting experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Majority of work is performed in a typical office environment with no major sources of discomfort. Essentially a normal controlled working environment with noise levels within acceptable safety limits and acceptable lighting and temperature conditions.

TRAVEL:

Occasional business travel may be required but out of the ordinary.
