West Virginia University Health System (SMG) seeks a Hospitalist, Medical Director. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Berkeley Medical Center in Berkeley County, West Virginia.
Duties: The Medical Director will oversee the Berkeley Medical Center Hospitalist Program.
The Medical Director will ensure that patients receive the highest quality treatment and will have oversight relating to activities associated with the delivery of clinical care and will make recommendations for staffing related to the appropriate delivery of such care.
The Medical Director will be responsible for ensuring efficient consultation service for Berkeley patients, streamlined clinical processes, appropriate clinical treatment protocols, and maintenance of high levels of patient satisfaction and patient safety.
The Medical Director will oversee quality metrics as established by SMG to ensure appropriate outcome measures.
The Medical Director will work closely with the physicians, administration, nursing, and technical staff to maintain an excellent level of general clinical care/operations and will organize the development of new clinical programs and innovations to continue to provide the latest clinical technologies and service.
This position will function as a full-time Hospitalist with Medical Director duties as a secondary role.Qualifications:
Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain a state medical license.
Successful candidate must have completed Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program.
Demonstrated interest, knowledge and ability in the leadership, financial, managerial, and marketing aspects of hospital medicine.
Meets and maintains State Licensure and credentialing requirements.
Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
