PURPOSE: Logistics Scheduling Associate at Corporate DC. Responsible for routing and shipment creation for all modes of transportation. Develop processes and metrics for team to drive efficiency.
JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)
Coordinate with transportation providers to ensure efficient and prompt movement of shipments
Convert deliveries into shipments in a timely fashion for all modes of transportation
Tracking and correcting shipping errors
Preparing bill of lading and invoices
Making expedited shipping arrangements when necessary
Respond to customer and company personnel inquiries or refer them to the proper channels
Follow up with transportation providers on missed pickups or deliveries
Create custom documents for boarder clearance for Canadian truck loads, LTL & UPS
Help with customer preferred routing and scheduling – Amazon / Grainger
Work directly with customer, sales offices and order department on discrepancies
Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed by Management
International truck building, able to generate Proforma Invoices and Canada Custom invoice
Play a significant role in making proposals implementing solutions, which improve customer service, improve the flow of material and reduce costs
Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Companys 2025 Strategy.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
High School graduate
Bachelors degree preferred
Six Sigma certifications preferred
Hazmat Training and Certification for IATA, IMDG and DOT preferred
Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
Working knowledge of office software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to learn Warehouse Management System, SAP, Data 2 logistics
Ability to perform extremely detailed work at a high degree of accuracy in a high-volume environment
Ability to train and issue instructions to department personnel
An uncompromising regard for quality and customer service is imperative
Ability to lead employees with questions, problems and getting product shipped
Cover and assist anywhere in office when shorthanded or as needed. On call after hours is necessary.
