This position is responsible for assisting and assigning work to other
mechanics to diagnose issues, adjust, repair, and perform routine
maintenance on vehicles and equipment while complying with Department of
Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work
environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Description

This position is responsible for maintenance and preventative
maintenance on trucks and trailers while maintaining a safe work
environment and adhering to Tysons policies and procedures.

Tasks

Applicants will be considered for any Truck Shop Mechanic opening. This
position requires a current valid State drivers license. Must supply
own tools for minimum maintenance. Must be able to use basic electrical,
pneumatic, and hand tools. Requires minimum 1 year of basic mechanical
or maintenance skills including PM on equipment, oil changes, greasing,
repairing or replacing semi tires, brake repair or replacement on
semi-trucks and trailers, and minimum 1-year experience operating
cutting torch and electric welder. May perform air brake, electrical,
and air conditioning work. Must have the ability to lift up to 50
pounds, climb stairs, and ladders up to 20 feet, bend, stretch, reach,
and work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors. Must be
able to read and understand assignments. Must be able to communicate
both orally and in writing. Perform other duties as assigned by
supervisor. If an applicant meets the minimum requirements for

The hours for this position will be 11:00 AM until 7:30 PM

REHIRES SUBJECT TO A 6-MONTH WAIT PERIOD AND MUST HAVE NOT WORKED
FOR ANY TYSON FACILITY 3 TIMES OR MORE
