Job Summary
The Logistics Manager is a highly skilled supply-chain expert and an exceptional leader, playing a crucial role in executing the company’s logistics and warehousing strategy. This position not only keeps abreast of industry trends to ensure competitive edge in the marketplace but also oversees the comprehensive management of the warehouse, including all incoming and outgoing processes. The manager is pivotal in achieving operational efficiency and long-term strategic goals, making significant contributions to the success of large-scale events managed by the company.
Supervisor Responsibilities
Hire, train, and manage logistics and warehouse staff.
Conduct performance evaluations and manage staff development effectively.
Lead daily control meetings to identify and resolve operational issues.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all aspects of logistics and warehousing, ensuring rigorous inventory control, and efficient shipping and receiving practices.
Maintain and update the Event Track software to ensure accurate tracking of shipments for large events.
Control daily operations, managing inventory logistics comprehensively.
Manage all incoming shipments and receiving processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Organize and maintain warehouse operations, optimizing space and inventory management.
Coordinate logistics for transporting products, maintaining constant communication with drivers and air partners for timely deliveries.
Conduct root-cause analysis for operational failures and implement corrective actions.
Report regularly to senior management about progress, challenges, and potential impacts on costs or schedules.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to continuously improve the supply-chain network.
Ensure compliance with quality control, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Supervise daily warehouse activities, focusing on quality assurance and productivity.
Schedule and oversee the warehouse team to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.
Meet regularly with operational leads to analyze productivity and devise actionable plans.
Required Skills and Abilities
Proven expertise in logistics and warehouse management, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, capable of delivering effective feedback and fostering a collaborative environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, warehouse management software, and project management tools such as Smartsheet.
Analytical and adaptable, able to work under pressure and meet changing deadlines.
Experience in logistics management for large-scale events is highly desirable.
Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field required.
At least 7 years of experience in logistics and warehouse management, preferably with experience in managing large events.
Forklift operation certification and a valid driver’s license are necessary.
Multilingual abilities are an asset.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for prolonged periods, as well as stand, walk, or move within a warehouse environment.
Must be able to handle the physical requirements of the warehouse operations, including lifting items up to 70 lbs. when necessary.
Require iinterfacing within sales, manufacturing and operations areas.
Travel required based on business needs.
