Residential Loan Specialist
Position Overview:
Oversees the documentation and submission process for bank loans such as residential mortgages, home equity lines of credit and consumer loans as needed. Ensures a “white glove” experience by serving as the main point of contact to the relationship manager/loan officer and borrower, as per the needs of the RM, real estate agent, underwriter/credit officer and closer from origination through closing. Obtain and verify the accuracy of all required documentation from client and third parties. Process and ensure that all loan files comply with company lending policies, as well as state and federal lending regulations.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the main point of contact for the relationship manager, attorney, title companies, real estate agents, borrowers, underwriter/credit officers and closers to facilitate a timely loan closing while providing a “white glove” experience to internal and external customers.
Review new files as per the SLA within 24-48 hours.
Monitor loan application status through automated reporting and data tracking.
Ensure follow-up procedures and proper timelines are adhered to with all loans in the Pipeline.
Provide quality customer service to all clients via phone, email, walk-in, or through the mail.
Respond to email and voice message within same day or 24 hours of received after 2PM.
Assist in closing, post-closing or funding issues.
Prepare disclosures & documents necessary to process loan application and obtain additional information as needed for all types of loans.
Review 1003 for accuracy and input loan file data accurately into software programs
Review, analyze and evaluate requested documentation for accuracy, including appraisals, credit reports, income and asset documents, prior to submitting loan to underwriter/credit officer for loan approval.
Disclose Loan Estimate within regulatory requirements.
Monitor and Manage pipeline to meet contract deadlines and rate lock expirations.
Serve as a liaison between sales and underwriting to streamline the process.
Assist in training new employees.
Ensure all loan files and packages comply with company lending policies, as well as state and federal lending guidelines.
Stay abreast of changes in Internal, State and Federal policies, standards, and regulations concerning lending practices.
Develop, maintain knowledge, and comply with company policy and secondary market requirements pertaining to credit/security standards and regulatory requirements relative to conventional, government, and self-employed loans requirements.
Stay up to date on Internal Compliance training.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
5-7 years’ experience in mortgage lending and consumer lending in a financial institution.
Solid knowledge of various loans such as Conventional Mortgages, HELOCs, Home Equity Loans, Construction and Construction / Permanent Loans
Exceptional time management, attention to detail, customer service, and oral & written communication skills, organized, independent, and detail-minded individual.
Proficiency with MS Office, Loan Origination Software (LOS) such as Encompass, LP and Automated Underwriting System (AUS).
Must have (or be willing to obtain) a valid NMLS license.
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely, objective, and confidential manner.
Advanced knowledge of complex loan processing and associated documentation and underwriting guidelines.
Ability to interact effectively and tactfully, either in person or over the telephone, with all levels of banks employees, clients, and vendors.
Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills
Desired:
Ability to take on new projects and help in other areas when necessary and needed.
College degree or equivalent additional experience.
Proficiency with Silverlake, Xperience
