EMSL is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician II (Chemistry) in Cinnaminson, NJ. The technician supports the laboratory analysts by preparing samples for analysis. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Perform a variety of sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure chemical and physical properties in a variety of matrices: air, dust, food, soil, solid, and/or waterOperate and maintain basic analytical equipment and instrumentsAble to perform basic chemistry tasks such as pipetting, volumetric measurements and the utilization of analytical balancesPerform basic calculations and conversions, and compile the data obtainedBe comfortable in a laboratory setting involving the handling of common laboratory reagents, such as acids, bases, and organic solvents.
