We are seeking an expert and visionary clinical researcher with a strong background in designing and conducting oral health clinical trials that lead to innovative ways to describe and visualize product benefits, expanding growth opportunities for our products. The Clinical Research Director will clinically evaluate oral health products and devices, focusing on the scientific and strategic aspects of clinical trials. The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader, capable of encouraging collaborative relationships with customers, including academic and corporate partners and regulatory agencies. This role is also responsible for initiating the design, implementation, and evaluation of clinical studies, ensuring that all research activities are conducted in accordance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal and external collaborators to develop partnerships opportunities to better serve the business
Own the strategy, design and execution of clinical research programs from conception through publication
Develop research protocols, informed consent forms, and other study documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and ethical principles
Lead all aspects of participant recruitment and retention strategies, ensuring that study enrollment targets are met and that participant diversity is considered
Collaborate with senior leadership across different departments to align research strategies with business objectives.
Monitor study progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to keep research on track
Ensure the quality and integrity of data collection, management, and analysis
Prepare interim and final reports, manuscripts, and presentations to disseminate research findings to the scientific community and other partners
Explore opportunities to collaborate with behavior scientists in order to design studies that integrate effective behavior change interventions
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of behavior change theories, methodologies, and best practices
Handle study budgets and resources, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget
Train research staff, including coordinators, data managers, and other support personnel on how to use the Colgate e-Clinical Trial Management Systems
Work with Scientific Affairs and Public Health Teams to conduct implementation clinical research
Oversee the safety monitoring of trial participants and ensure reporting of adverse events
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging therapies, and regulatory landscape
Required Qualifications:
Masters in an oral biology field
At least 14 years of experience
At least 5 years of clinical research experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Dental degree, DDS, and/or a PhD in an oral biology field
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and ethical guidelines pertaining to clinical research
Proficient in clinical trial management software and statistical analysis tools
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $146,000.00 – $207,000.00 USD
Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.
Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgates 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements
Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually
Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually
Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
