University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is currently seeking/multiple/Lead Parking Facilities Specialists to join the Department of Parking and Transportation Services.The Office of Parking and Transportation Services strives to provide students, faculty, staff, and visitors with the best possible parking and transportation experience. /This is an essential designation position with rotating shifts. PRIMARY DUTIES • Lead day-to-day activities of assigned shift(s) and parking facilities to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures, and specifications. • Supervise team of Parking Ambassadors, create weekly schedules for parking facilities staff. Hire and train Ambassador staff. • Perform preventative maintenance tasks at all garages on all parking equipment. • Responds to general parking inquiries, requests, and complaints and escalates any difficult concerns to leadership. Provide feedback on operational needs. • Inspect facilities on a routine basis to ensure that all facilities and systems are functioning and available for patron use. • Serve as on-site supervisor during special events, ensuring adequate staff coverage to assist customers and direct flow of garage traffic. • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and maintain Parking and Revenue Control System (PARCS) equipment. • Assist customers with on-site issues such as battery jumps, lockouts, and security concerns and reporting. • Provide coverage for Parking Ambassadors as necessary. • Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education:Bachelor’s degree. Experience:One (1) year of experience operating corporate, commercial or university parking and transportation programs. Supervisory Experience:One (1) year of work coordination, training, or direct supervision. Other:Related experience may substitute for education. Four years working in parking, transportation, facility management, hospitality, retail, or a lead/supervisory role in food services can be considered equivalent to a bachelor’s degree Clery Act designated job as campus security authorities (CSA) member and will comply with Clery Act requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently.
