Responsibilities Program Manager for the Defense Logistics Agency Automated Identification Technology (AIT) program, which oversees the application of devices essential to automate the collection of information on assets-in-storage, in process, and in-transit. Leads Automated Identification Technology (AIT) initiatives, reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting policies which impact the AIT program and Automated Information Systems (AIS). Conducts and attends seminars, conferences, and formal meetings with the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), military departments, colleges and universities, and private/commercial vendors. Advises DLA senior leadership on program initiatives, progress, and recommendations when evaluating new, agency-wide business practices. Plans the use of new Automated Identification Technology (AIT) which impact the DoD, other agencies, Foreign Nationals, and private industry, and influence the effectiveness and economics for optimum transportation and supply objectives. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for a Management Analyst, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Experience with present and emerging Automated Identification Technologies which automatically capture, aggregate, and transfer data. Devices include bar codes, optical memory cards, radio frequency identification tags, and satellite-tracing systems. Plans the use of new Automated Identification Technologies across internal and external organizations. Conducts analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness and compliance of supply, transportation, maintenance and operations programs. Working knowledge of procurement, inventory control point, and the Department of Defense budgeting process. Develops program policies and guidance with wide-ranging impact across the government and private industry practices. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
