Job Description:
Welder, Senior
• Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other materials that require welding.
• Works from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts, or work orders.
• Lays out and marks points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates.
• Uses measuring instruments and hand tools to positions pieces requiring welding into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps.
• Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.
• Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced welders.
• May serve as a team leader.
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Participates in special projects, as required.
Education
(1) Requires a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience
(2) Technical or vocational training preferred
(3) One or more professional certifications may be required, depending upon job assignment
Experience
3-5 years of related welding experience.
The likely hourly rate for this position is between $28.90 – $39.10. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
