Position Responsibilities: Work full-time at the Jack Daniel Visitor Center. Able to cover assignments in all areas the Visitor Center, White Rabbit Bottle Shop and Motlow House operations. This includes the ability to tour guide, host tastings or other guest experiences as needed. This role will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service/stewardship of the Jack Daniel’s brand and Homeplace experience. Tour Guide: Perform public & private tours and tastings for the Jack Daniel Distillery Visitor Center and represent the brand to approximately 300,000 visitors per year. Ability to facilitate enhanced tastings and other special events or tours as needed. WRBS: Responsible for the promotion and sale of Jack Daniel brands at the White Rabbit Bottle Shop. Follow opening and closing procedures and prepare daily sales activity sheet balancing sales numbers by operating a POS system, credit card machine, identification scanner and money handling. Motlow House: Understand TN Squire Association and procedure for seeing visiting Squires. Respond to inquiries from Squires and visitors to the Motlow House in a courteous and helpful manner. Follow opening and closing procedures, assist in the set up and all other aspects of preparing tastings and events at the Motlow House. Front Desk: Utilize the ticketing system to check in on-line sales/walk up business. Follow procedures for opening and closing. Must be able to handle money. Tasting Rooms: Execute activities included in the room cycles: set up for confirmed number of seatings, reset room quickly and for a premium experience. Wash glassware and tasting boards and wipe tables as needed throughout the day while maintaining a clean environment. Custodial and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements : Must be an accomplished good-will ambassador with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of providing a positive public relations experience to all of our visitors from over 170 Countries. Must have in-depth knowledge of the whiskey-making process and of Jack Daniel’s & Lynchburg’s history and lore. Must be willing to work a rotating schedule to cover a 7 day/ week Visitor’s Center operation which includes day and evening work plus holidays and overtime and a minimum of two weekends a month. Must be physically able to walk tour path and give a minimum of 4 tours per day; must be able to work outside in various temperatures and weather conditions and walk several miles a day. Ability to lift or carry 50 lbs. Must possess or be able to obtain TIPS Certification and Wine Vendor certification.. Must be able to learn and enforce Distillery guidelines for Security and Safety related to weather, production needs, medical incidents and general crowd control. High school education or the equivalent required.
