Job Title: NEPA Specialist

Job Description

The NEPA Coordinator will serve a critical role by providing the team and clients with an evaluation of the environmental and related social and economic effects of proposed projects. The individual in this role will have an opportunity to build relationships with communities in Michigan.

Responsibilities:

– Follow the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) for design projects.

– Follow the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) for design projects.

– Coordinate submittal of all required documents.

– Work with multiple groups at the company to gather the required submittal documents.

– Ensure projects are following these regulations.

– Conduct reviews of local, state, and federal policies, as needed.

Must-Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in technical field (ideally Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Civil)

Valid Driver’s License

1-10 years of experience working with NEPA (national environmental policy act) & SHPO (state historic preservation office)

MS office Skills

Soft Skills

Willingness to participate in a team-oriented environment as well as function independently.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Research and analytical skills with an attention to detail.

Ability to stay organized and keep track of multiple tasks and deadlines.

Responsive to requests from multiple entities within and outside of the company.

Dedication to meeting the requirements of transportation related projects and construction.

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and some days remote.

Work Environment

This will be based in their local metro Detroit office, and they offer 1 day of remote work after the initial 4-6 week training period. Mainly office position but will need to go to project sites or community events on rare occasions. Fun, team-focused environment, and collaborative with other departments. M-F 40-45 hour work weeks are expected. Will need to go to project sites weekly.
