If you want to have a hands-on global impact on payment solutions, we want you to join our team as a Hardware Engineer. This is a full-time position based in our facility at CPI in Williston, South Carolina
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
As our Mechanical Engineer, you will provide dedicated mechanical engineering support for a supply chain engineering team focused on delivering cost reduction projects and production support for various CPI product lines. This position will involve concept development and validation, detailed design and tooling phase preparation, and design activities to i prove quality, value and/or cost for CPI products. In addition, the Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for participating in engineering design reviews and ideation events with a global engineering team.
This role will be responsible for:
Leading projects and directing day-to-day activities of multiple in-going engineering projects
Writing detailed design specifications and related document
Developing detailed designs for implementation in production, including participation in tool and die design and development of assembly instructions
Participating in and leading design reviews and design-related brainstorming events
Providing engineering support for production and supply chain projects
Working with suppliers and distributors for material, technology, and component selection, and providing input for sourcing and supply chain teams
Traveling to manufacture, supplier, and customer sites as needed
Supporting activities within the global CPI Supply Chain Engineering team

Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering required
2-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering and design
Strong experience in the design of plastic injection molded parts, including material selection and design for manufacturing (DFM)
Experience of design of metal parts (stamped, sheet metal, and machined), including material selection and design for manufacturing (DFM)
Expertise in parametric 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks, PTC Creo, Autodesk Inventor) including large assemblies
Experience with multidisciplinary design teams and awareness of tradeoffs between electrical hardware, software, and mechanical solution approaches
Ability to perform and interpret tolerance analysis using worst case and statistical methods
Up to 10% travel
