Job Title: Sr. Maintenance Technician – Team Lead
Job Description
We are seeking a Sr. Maintenance Technician – Team Lead with extensive experience in CNC maintenance. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC machines. You will be responsible for working with Siemens Controls, G&L or Cincinnati machines, and must have the ability to understand and work with all mechanical and electrical components of CNC machines. This role involves installing ball screws, fitting bearings, understanding machine tool geometry, and performing gearbox rebuilds.

Diagnosing and troubleshooting CNC machines
Installing ball screws

Machine tool geometry adjustments
Spiral and gearbox rebuilds
Test bar, draw bar, forceguard
Milling, drilling, and reaming
Using hand and pneumatic tools
CNC electrical troubleshooting
PLC experience (reading Ladder Logic and troubleshooting)
Electrical troubleshooting (24V – 480V)
Blueprint reading and geometric tolerance understanding
Interpreting CMM reports

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Decatur, Illinois.
Work Environment
Manufacturing facility, onsite Cat Decatur working for MMS. Large parts, machine shop production environment. Initially Monday – Friday 8-hour shifts, transitioning to AWS schedule. Physical demands include standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, lifting over 50 pounds, close vision, and color vision. Exposure to outside weather conditions, electrical shock risks, loud factory environment, hazardous materials, and greasy or slippery floors.
