Position Title Chemistry Tutor

Department West Plains Grizzly Tutoring Lab

Hiring Range $14.00 hourly

Department/Employer Operating Hours 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday

How many hours per week are required? 5-10 hours

Description of Primary Duties

The Chemistry Tutor will assist students in mastering chemistry concepts and completing homework assignments. The tutor will work with students one-on-one, in small group settings, and over Zoom, helping them develop a deeper understanding of chemistry topics. There may also be occasional opportunities to assist with math support. Mandatory training on Fridays is required.

Required Qualifications

Passed CHM 160 with an A or an equivalent Chemistry course. Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 with at least a 3.2 in the subject area. Letter of recommendation from a Chemistry teacher is required. A willingness to learn, interest in tutoring students for success, and desire to help others become better Chemistry students are necessary for the job.

Willingness to work on both West Plains and Mountain Grove campuses is desirable but not required. Work Study students who meet these criteria especially welcome.
