Join our team as a Staff Accountant II and be responsible for reviewing, processing, and reconciling supplier invoices, ensuring accurate billing transactions, and addressing outstanding shipments and billings. You will also be crucial in reconciling the general ledger, processing accruals, and administering Cost Center and Project Cost tracking in SAP. Additionally, you will provide insightful analysis and reporting of accounting data, ensuring strict compliance with accounts payable processes.

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas.

Position Summary: The Staff Accountant IIs responsibilities include reviewing, processing, and reconciling supplier invoices, processing billing transactions, reconciling the general ledger, administering Cost Center and Project Cost tracking in SAP, reconciling balance sheets, providing analysis and reporting of accounting data, and ensuring compliance with accounts payable processes. Additionally, they ensure that all financial postings adhere to laws, regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Essential Duties:

Prepare accounting journal entries as assigned for month-end close

Reconciles and manages balance sheet accounts as assigned

Create Reporting and answer queries from Business partners

Complete assigned tasks within deadlines with minimal supervision

Ensure expenses are charged to the proper department and make any necessary reclassification journal entries

Ensure SAP ERP data integrity and proper systematic documentation

Work with systems integrated to and separate from SAP ERP

Create and manage Projects within SAP Project Systems

Troubleshoot and resolve invoice discrepancies by working with Indirect Procurement, Receiving, Corporate AP and vendors

Preparation of schedules and reporting and analysis as needed

Cross-train as back up support for finance team members

Develop and maintain policies and procedures

Support the Accounting Manager’s efforts for maintaining internal controls related to the accounting tasks

Work with the Accounting Manager and Senior Accountants to ensure accounting policies are followed and procedures are developed

Assist with preparation of audit schedules with proper documentation

Assist auditors with any inquiries

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees’, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements – Required and/or Preferred

Education:

Required: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Qualifications:

3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or similar environment

Advanced Literacy with Microsoft Office, especially Excel spreadsheets

Ability to use reasoning to solve problems that may arise

Ability to work Independently

Communicate effectively with fellow team members and members of other departments

Utilize established resources to complete work efficiently and effectively

Strong customer service skills including excellent verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills

Responds to inquiries from other departments in a timely manner

Capable of handling confidential information in a responsible manner

Flexibility and multi-tasking capabilities

Detail oriented

Highly organized and able to follow a systematic method of performing a task

Strong data entry skills

Ability to collaborate with teams

Ability to work with domestic and international teams

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of SAP, Oracle or another fully integrated ERP system preferred but not required

Demonstrate ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments, and effectively manage deadlines
