Bell Broussard Blade Shop

Bring your ideas and ability to learn new skills and join the Broussard Blade shop. In this position you’ll work with other team members to ensure best-in-class service to our customers. You’ll be an integral part of the team, performing repairs on main rotor and tail rotor blades. In this role you’ll have an opportunity to showcase your learning abilities and hands-on skills, while growing your technical knowledge and aviation career experience.

What you’ll be doing as an Blade Tech

Under supervision, you will perform composite repairs on aircraft components in accordance with FAA and OEM requirements. Your repair activities will include sanding, cleaning, applying sealants, balancing blades, and performing blade-specific maintenance. You will read and interpret repair instructions, read blueprints, make accurate measurements. Your position may be assigned to work overtime, depending on production needs.

Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

High attention to detail and ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.

Ability to progressively grow your expertise by learning and retaining new skills.

Demonstrated mechanical aptitude/similar work experience.

Ability to demonstrate safe work habits at all times, to include always wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Basic computer skills.

What you need to be successful

High school diploma or GED is required.

Previous experience with blade repair is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to safely move parts and tools onto and off of the work areas.

Ability to use/manipulate objects – such as tools and parts – with a high degree of precision.

Ability to safely access and/or work in all parts of the production floor.

Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs., and to team lift up to 50 lbs.

Ability to perform prolonged kneeling, squatting, sitting, crawling, and climbing stairs, ladders and work stands.

Ability to stand for extended periods during the entire duration of shift.

Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.

Flexibility to bend, stoop, and crouch as required for tasks.

Good vision, including the ability to focus on small details and identify defects.

Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress and potential issues

Willingness to follow instructions and ask for clarification when needed.
