JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and performing various housekeeping and related activities at assigned Head Start center.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works independently to assure daily checklist of assigned cleaning and maintenance tasks are completed.
Sweeps, mops floors, vacuums rugs, empties trash, washes windows, dusts, disinfects bathrooms and classroom sinks.
Maintains adequate supplies for bathrooms – paper towels, toilet tissue, garbage bags, soap and cleaning products.
Communicates with center staff to assure supplies and other cleaning needs are communicated.
Performs minor maintenance tightening screws, replacing light bulbs, fixing broken items, etc.
Performs other miscellaneous cleaning-related tasks as assigned to assure the sanitation, maintenance and beautification of the center: carpet cleaning, floor buffing, stripping, waxing, touch up paint, etc.
Participates and completes 15 hours of required training and other training as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work independently and follow instructions to complete daily checklist.
Must have good communication skills and be able to follow oral and written directions.
Must be able to work well with center staff.
Must exhibit good judgement, be organized and flexible.
Must have acceptable physical and mental health to carry our the responsibilities of the position including climbing ladders, bending, stooping, stocking shelves, lifting 30 pounds-occasionally and pails of water regularly.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Three months paid; or life related experience.
Must have access to reliable transportation.
Part-Time 20 hours per week / 42 weeks per year
Grade 5
Monday through Friday: 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm
