Job Location: Hershey, PA preferred, Remote optional Summary The Merchandising Manager, Salty Snacks is a pivotal member of the HSY Sales team responsible for creating the merchandising strategy and playbook for the Salty Snacks business and for developing, creating, and managing multi-brand pre-pack displays and portfolio optimization efforts in HSY’s fastest growing SBU. This role will work across multiple customer teams with unique focus on Walmart in addition to Convenience, Costco, and Kroger. This role will work closely with Sales, Category Management, Brand Marketing, Omni-channel Marketing, Retail, Finance, Procurement, Packaging Engineering, and external agencies/suppliers (such as Menasha, WestRock, PCA, TPN, etc.). Key Responsibilities Create a Salty snack merchandising strategy and playbook that includes: o Determine an appropriate “size of prize” for merch in total and by key customer. Make portfolio and calendar recommendations to achieve those targets. o Identify and develop appropriate multi-brand (e.g. Dots Skinny Pop) display strategies for Salty to build scale o Develop recommendations to address the financial challenges facing Salty pre-pack displays o Improve speed-to-market and investigate faster, alternative go-to-market methods (e.g. 3rd party providers) o Work closely with Salty Marketing/PPA teams to shape recommendations for optimizing display activation Provide merchandising expertise to optimize structures/costs of the current display portfolio Own the development and project management of multi-brand and multi-category (e.g. Dots HSY) displays as well as portfolio optimization efforts across the existing display line-up. NOTE: Existing display maintenance (e.g. mix changes) and new, single brand displays (e.g. new innovation launch display) stay with Marketing at this time. Be the Subject Matter Expert on Salty Snacks merchandising with an understanding of HSY and competitive capabilities as well as key customer strategies, including WMT, Kroger, Convenience, and Costco. Serve as a significant contributor to the 3-year strategic growth plan for Walmart Salty Snacks as a key leader of merchandising initiatives within the “Disrupt out of Aisle” pillar. Maintain close connectivity with the Retail and Sales teams to fully understand the in-store environment, recognize executional issues, and identify new opportunities. Actively participate in key customer appointments as needed to understand customer needs or present merchandising solutions. Understand and analyze POS and shopper data from Customers to identify merchandising opportunities and make fact-based strategic recommendations. Identify and capitalize on new and emerging merchandising opportunities and capabilities to develop and maintain competitive advantage and establish Hershey as a thought leader in innovative in-store solutions. Role requires 20-25% travel. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Experience: 7 years of experience in Merchandising, Sales, Category Management, Retail, Marketing or related fields.
