Warehouse Supervisor, 1st Shift

This position is to support the Manager of the Distribution Center and operation of the facility. This team member will supervise the activities associated with the operation of the Warehouse.  These activities may include some but not all the following activities (as assigned by the Warehouse Manager): receiving, storage, picking, put-away, shipping, quality control, returns, replenishments and other functions related to the warehouse activities.

Responsibilities:

– Assign work to designated warehouse members to meet daily production requirements.
– Work with each assigned activity to ensure Tyndales quality, accuracy, and safety standards are being met.
– Ensure inventory items are received and put away promptly and accurately using the correct put-away procedure when assigned.
– Complete all receiving paperwork being sent consistently and accurately to corporate headquarters.
– Work with the Cycle Count Coordinator to resolve item and location discrepancies to determine root cause of discrepancies and take corrective actions/solutions as needed.
– Provide support to the Cycle Count Coordinator for cycle counts and any other personnel support as needed.
– Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager, to ensure the appropriate count of members is available to perform anticipated workflow, including hiring of full-time staff and the use of part time, seasonal and temporary labor as needed.
– Hire, train, and on-board all new members in the assigned activities, including development and direct oversight and instruction on departmental and company processes and procedures.
– Establish and communicate performance goals for all members within the activities, provide regular and ongoing performance feedback and coaching, and write and deliver Annual and Interim performance reviews.
– Approve scheduled PTO; track attendance of staff and provide feedback and disciplinary action if/when required.
– Motivate/coach members to achieve optimal performance and maintain morale.
– Work to stay within budgetary guidelines for labor and expenses of the assigned activities.
– Oversee maintenance on warehouse equipment to ensure its performed at designated intervals as assigned by the warehouse Manager.
– Ensure an adequate supply of warehouse supplies is kept to meet demand, including but not limited to boxes, tape, packing materials, labels, etc.
– Partner with managers, supervisors, and members of other departments to resolve issues or assist with workload requirements as needed.

Qualifications:

– HS Diploma or equivalent.
– Minimum of three years experience working in a warehouse environment.
– Ability to operate material handling equipment.
– Cross-training in all warehouse job functions.
– Moderate computer skills—ability to navigate the internet and communicate effectively via email.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
– Ability to effectively communicate information so others will understand.
– Possess strong sense of urgency.
– Excellent attention to detail.
– Ability to multi-task and handle multiple requests at once.
– Ability to lead and motivate a team.
– Ability to work a flexible work schedule, requiring occasional Saturdays and outside of scheduled work hours.
– Experience with MAS500 and/or a Warehouse Management System, preferred.
– Forklift certification, preferred.
– Previous supervisory experience, preferred.
– Multilingual (English/Spanish), preferred.
