We are currently seeking a motivated Systems Engineer with an active Secret clearance to join our team in King George, VA. This is an On-Site position.Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) on the AEGIS and Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) surface ship program. Provide support to the AEGIS In-service Baseline Manager, ensuring acceptable levels of technical and engineering expertise for Computer Program Build and Installation Support, Fleet Support, and Documentation Management of Weapons Systems/Combat Systems. Operate the Fleet Support Operations Center (FSOC) and associated communication equipment, draft naval messages, and participate in on-site and/or distance support responses to fleet requests for technical assistance. Develop, maintain, and produce presentations for fleet support briefings. Provide action and milestone planning, project tracking, and financial analysis and monitoring. Participate in program status and planning meetings.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline; equivalent combination of 6 years of relevant work experience may be accepted in place of a degree Four (4) or more years of experience working with Navy’s AEGIS combat systems Four (4) or more years of experience in software configuration management (CM) production and installation processes Ability to travel 40% OCONUS and CONUS within the United States, Hawaii, Guam, Spain, Poland, and Japan 5% Travel is required in the continental United States, California, and VirginiaPreferred Qualifications: Experience in developing fielding plans for AEGIS/BMD computer program updates. Proven ability to submit and track requests for AEGIS/BMD computer program alterations using the SHIPMAIN process. Demonstrated ability to interface with AEGIS program representatives from key organizations such as OPNAV, NAVSEA, Fleet Commands, ISEAs, NSWCPHD, and Prime Contractors. Experience representing NSWCDD AEGIS In-service concerns at conferences and meetings. Strong skills in developing Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) and presentations, as required. Expertise in creating, maintaining, and delivering presentations during Fleet Support briefings. Ability to coordinate with the Fleet to schedule AEGIS computer program installations. Experience supporting AEGIS Weapons System (AWS) computer program installations onboard ships. Familiarity with supporting Fleet Support Operations Centers (FSOC).Clearance Requirements: Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance prior to starting this position.Physical Requirements: ​Ability to remain stationary 50% of the time, working at a desk or computer terminal. Occasional movement within the office for communication and accessing resources.
