CAREER OPPORTUNITY:

Responsible for managing and developing the West Point Mill Shipping Department. This includes the roll line for three containerboard paper machines, finishing, warehousing, loading, and all other shipping activities/areas. Priorities of this leader and the department are Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Reliability/Cost/Production.

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT SMURFIT WESTROCK:

Manages, develops, and improves department safety, personnel, maintenance requests, and budget.

Manages a team of 2 salary (Shipping Supervisor and Material Mgmt. Associate) and 31 hourly employees.

Responsible for developing and implementing loading plans and methods to ensure safe, damage-free delivery.

Ensure all departmental training needs are documented and current in C-Pro.

Works with railroad and corporate supply chain on rail related items.

Rail complaints

Track issues

Works with AAR, railroad and corporate transportation on developing new loading plans or loading trials as needed.

Helps coordinate machine scheduling with paper mill and production planning to ensure machines are trimmed in efficient manner and meets customer and mill needs.

Manage third party spotting service for the mill.

Work with corporate transportation team on truck, rail, & intermodal needs.

Works closely with OCC area and Smurfit Westrock OCC planners and transportation to make sure mill OCC unloading and onsite trailers are handled in way to support OCC and paper reloading.

Help coordinate and manage mill storage and use of supplemental fiber in bale or roll form.

Tracking and tracing

Daily inventory management

Leads and coordinate mill, logistics, or other supply chain projects as needed.

Weekend duty rotation for shipping. Generates mill rail switch list when on duty and ensures that the area is covered each weekend for the rail switch and operationally.

Coordinates roll broke shipments with WestRock reclaim sales.

Attend paper mill meetings & morning mill production meetings as needed.

Work with corporate supply chain and Logistics on finished good inventory reduction and process enhancement projects.

Serve as a behavioral change agent responsible for promoting mill culture, including commitment to quality, and organizational effectiveness among all employee groups at this site.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

Bacheloru2019s degree preferred and 5 years experience in manufacturing environment with Logistics and production planning background

Preferred 2-3 years of managing others.

Qualifications / Training Preferred: 6 Sigma Green Belt Certified, APICS Basics of Supply Chain Management

Proficient in: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, JD Edwards, Oracle, Panther, C-Pro, Smurfit Westrock complaint system.
