Overview
CYBER SECUIRTY & INFORMATION ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (NAVIFOR):
Bowhead seeks a Cyber Security & Information Assurance Specialist to support the Naval Information Forces (NAVIFOR)N6 Directorate located in Suffolk, VA. This effort will providethe highest level of Navyenterprise management and technical support in the areas of: Emergent/future technologymodernization; Data analytics/management/science; Application development; Performanceplanning/improvements; Cybersecurity readiness; Assessment and Authorizations (A&A); IT portfoliomanagement; NMCI/ONE-Net readiness, sustainment, and convergence; Domain IT service delivery;IT Service Management; Shore transformation/integration; and headquarter IT support.
Responsibilities
Serves as primary security compliance agent.
Performs vulnerability/risk assessments of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle to support the RMF authorization process.
Ensure secure backup of systems and data through formally documented backup plan, accurate and up-to-date listing of systems to be backed up, proper storing and labeling of completed backups.
Possess the necessary technical skills to lead the overall design, engineering, integration, operation, and maintenance of a defense-in-depth strategy for cybersecurity infrastructure.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in IT Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management or a related discipline.
At least five (5) years’ experience in performing Navy Information Assurance and cybersecurity functions to include at least one year direct experience with RMF and its related components and instructions.
One of the following certifications is required: CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) – Security Leadership Certification (GSLC), Certified Information system Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
Intermediate-to-advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite—Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret / SCI level (current SSBI within the five-year scope). US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
