Summary About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. Serves as the Civilian Command Operations Officer and Executive Officer. Responsibilities Full assistant to the Brigade Commander. Exercising authority of the Commander over mission related work involving funding, contracting, logistics management, security management, and management of multiple information systems and communications-electronics equipment and systems. Provide executive management over multiple Information Area programs and projects. Enhancing battle command for Expeditionary Forces through all phases and transitions of war. Oversee the development and implementation of plans and operations necessary to meet assigned communications requirements, taking into account various emergency conditions, system, and network capabilities. Oversee the day-to-day administrative and managerial operations of the 93D Signal Brigade, including the headquarters and subordinate NECs. Ensure that administrative and staff support are properly focused on facilitating work of the Brigade and its staff and contributing to its efficient execution. Make changes in work assignments and work flow and balances workload among positions to increase effectiveness of operations supervised. Responsible for coordinating programs, plans, policies, projects, directives and doctrine modification, operation and maintenance of strategic communications systems and equipment and personnel within the organization. Review drafts of communications operating policies, practices, and procedures pertinent to the activity network originating at higher echelons. This position is in the Supervision/Management Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. The Supervisory Development Course (SDC) must be completed within one year of placement into a supervisory position and then completed as a refresher course every three years.
