Aerotek is currently partnering with a University in ATL that is looking to hire several Utilities Employees who will train and work in a chiller, steam, and plant operations environment. These are industrial size chiller and boiler systems so anyone interested must have relevant experience working in commercial or industrial environment
Description:
Supports the safe and efficient operation of University Centrifugal Chillers (up to 2000 tons) and other equipment associated with the chiller plants in accordance with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and standards.
Monitors and helps to troubleshoots the chiller management system that controls the chilled water equipment serving the campus.
Supports the monitoring and maintenance of cooling tower water treatment controllers and associated equipment.
Performs daily rounds to inspect the chiller equipment.
Supports the Sampling and testing of the chemicals as necessary to maintain correct water chemistry for systems.
Works in a safe manner and keeps up with OSHA standards and all other applicable federal regulations.
Completes preventative maintenance orders, work orders, and documents work performed.
Communicates orally and written with department personnel and management for the purpose of supporting the chiller plant operation, maintenance, and repair.
Responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of equipment on steam distribution lines
This includes steam trap stations, steam pressure reduction stations, condensate return tanks, steam-fired domestic water heaters, shell and tube building heating heat exchangers, and distribution line valves, strainers and other fittings
Completes work orders and preventative maintenance orders to document work performed
Communicates orally and written with department personnel and management for the purpose of receiving and advising on matters concerning steam system maintenance.
Skills:
Commercial Chiller Steam or plant operations, auxiliary equipment, breakdowns, troubleshooting equipment in the tonnage
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience operating chiller, boiler or plant operation systems
May require a valid Georgia drivers license and insurable driving record.
Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to bend, stoop and twist.
Work environment involves indoors, outdoors extreme weather conditions and high noise areas.
Experience with pumps, piping systems, controls, cooling towers, air compressors, etc
