Join our dynamic clients team as a Temp-to-Hire Tax Accountant! They are looking for a detail-oriented professional with a great background in tax preparation and compliance to support their growing finance department. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of tax-related tasks, including business tax returns, managing tax filings, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, experience with tax software, and the potential to transition into a permanent role within their team. salary: $22 – $23 per hour

work hours: 8 AM – 5 PM

Responsibilities

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual state and local sales and use tax returns in a timely manner in accordance with the requirements for each respective taxing jurisdiction

Process state, county and city business license renewals and applications

Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual local B&O tax returns

Analyze and research sales and use tax variance report each month to ensure all projects are booked accurately

Assist with data gathering for various sales and use tax audits

Research various tax issues to determine tax compliance requirements

Interact with state and local authorities regarding tax compliance issues and license renewals

Interact with bonding company to obtain bonds needed for business license renewals

Interact with insurance company to obtain certificates of insurance needed for business license renewals

Maintain Excel based tax/business license compliance calendar

1-2 years of full-time work experience in accounting, finance or tax

Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance or similar field preferred

Oracle or similar ERP system experience desired

Effective communication with internal & external clients

Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency highly preferred

Ability to move efficiently between tasks in a fast-paced environment

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
