POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President Sales will be responsible for the overall management and strategy of the sales and customer service organization for the Matthews Granite Division. This role is responsible for revenue growth as well as directing activity to ensure client satisfaction and profitability for the business. The sales force of the various companies has not been fully integrated yet. There are roughly 50 employees in the sales and customer service organization across all the divisions. The Vice President Sales will report to Roger Stonecipher, President, Matthews Granite. Roger reports to Steve Gackenbach, Group President of Matthews Memorialization division in Pittsburgh. The new Vice President Sales should have a proven track record of leading large sales and customer service organizations, growing revenue, leading strategy development, developing people, systems, and infrastructure, managing by metrics, and integrating teams. Granite or memorialization experience is strongly desired.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company growth targets and objectives.
Lead and manage the sales team, providing guidance, support, and coaching to maximize their performance.
Establish sales goals and targets and monitor team progress to ensure they are achieved.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners, identifying opportunities for new business and expansion.
Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and product development, to align sales strategies and ensure effective execution.
Analyze market trends, competition, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
Develop pricing strategies and negotiate contracts to maximize profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.
Monitor sales metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies relevant to sales and incorporate them into the sales strategy.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote brand awareness and establish strategic partnerships

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors Degree in business administration, sales and marketing or related field
Advanced degree (MBA, Masters) preferred
10 years progressive sales and customer service experience
8 years in a leadership role
Routine travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook and Internet applications.
Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), and planning skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning).
Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
