Role Summary

The Safety Analyst is a member of the Safety Department and provides guidance regarding the application of occupational health & safety practices. This role performs a variety of technical and administrative work in planning, organizing, and implementing of safety initiatives and procedures to establish safety culture and continually improve safety performance.

The Safety Analyst provides technical expertise and support for safety programs including regulatory knowledge and interpretation, risk management methods and best practices to all areas. This role is responsible for ensuring advancement of the safety program.

Job Accountabilities

Provide expert guidance and counseling on safety related issues for day-to-day activities by participating in safety meetings, audits and training.

Conduct incident investigations and assists in development of corrective actions.

Maintain, organize and report safety KPIs including leading and lagging indicators for measurement of safety performance.

Conduct audits, investigations and assessments

Conduct safety training courses including site specific hazard training.

Assists with management of the contractor safety program.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Associate degree in occupational safety/technical discipline or engineering or other related field or demonstrated equivalent refining industry experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, and other safety related regulations

Organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in an effective manner.

Proficient in utilizing computer and Microsoft Office applications including MS Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook

Solid verbal and written communication and technical writing skills

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Ability to work in a team environment.

Strong attention to detail.

Desired Characteristics

Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety/technical discipline or engineering or another related field

Up to 3 years of experience in safety field

Understanding of incident response including incident command concepts

Pay Range: $63,175.00 - $84,265.00
