Position: Neurology Hospitalist Physician (Multiple)

DUTIES : Examine, diagnose and treat hospital inpatient neurological disorders, including stroke, dementia and neuromuscular diseases through physical examination, symptom review, and medical testing; meet with hospital inpatients who are seen in the emergency room or are admitted to the hospital and examine them to diagnose neurological conditions such as stroke, dementia, and neuromuscular diseases; order and interpret medical test results to aid in determining the best course of treatment; monitor and track hospital inpatient progress; explain medical procedures and plan of care to hospital inpatients; communicate with patients primary care physicians upon admission, when treatment plans change or at discharge, to maintain continuity and quality of care; refer patients to medical specialists, social services, or other professionals as appropriate; attend departmental meetings and professional training sessions as requested.

REQUIREMENTS : M.D. (U.S. or foreign equivalent) or D.O. (U.S. or foreign equivalent); completion of residency in Neurology; board eligible or board certified in Neurology; possess or eligible to apply for a Florida medical license.
