Job Title: SSHOJob Description
Candidate will be responsible for the overall health & safety of employees on their respective GLDD Construction Projects. The SSHO will be responsible for overseeing the workers on a dredging project. The SSHO will ensure the work is performed to the standards regulated in the EM 385-1-1 Army Corps of Engineers Standards.
Hard Skills
Current Army Corp (EM-385-1-1) and OSHA regulations
5 years of H&S Construction Experience (dredging experience preferred)
OSHA 500, OSHA 501, or OSHA 30
Ability to write safety reports
Job Type
This is a contract position with a duration of 12 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Work Environment
Project site will be in Cape Canaveral for the first 2 months and traveling after that. Actalent will set up rental car – compact car. Contract SSHO schedule is typically 17 days on 11 off. Must be willing to be on feet for an extended amount of time. Must be able to work 2 weeks of 12 hr days. Dress Code – Construction clothes – PPE – Hard Hat and Safety Glasses. PPE – Hard hat, safety vest – both provided by client. NO physical. NON HAZ.
