KPMG is currently seeking a Tax Associate to join our Global Mobility Services practice.
Responsibilities:
Leverage a diverse array of skill sets to provide international companies and their mobile workforce with individual income tax compliance, payroll, process, policy and advisory services
Serve as a direct contact for client tax and human resources professionals as well as their mobile employees; analyze data received and directly participate in the payroll and individual income tax return preparation processes for mobile employees; directly support and advise mobile employees regarding the tax implications of their cross-border travel
Work with KPMG offices across the globe providing guidance and worldwide coordination for mobility tax support; work collaboratively with tax and human resource professionals within multinational companies to manage the tax implications of their global workforce
Prepare client correspondence and calculations on various international assignment matters, including policy issues, cost projections, tax settlements and tax reconciliations, in addition to assisting with tax authority inquiries/audits
Prepare, analyze and track expatriate payroll, compensation, benefits, global mobility policy and other assignment-related issues
Build capabilities in key technologies that enable tax professionals for client service delivery such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more
Qualifications:
Must be pursuing and have obtained by the start date or have completed the following degrees/majors in the past 12 months: Bachelors and/or Masters from an accredited college or university
Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
Bilingual in English and Spanish with ability to use both Spanish and English language skills in a business environment
Coursework or concentration in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Economics, Human Resources, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred
Knowledge of expatriate services, global mobility and tax
Foreign language skills preferred
Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills and ability to navigate MS Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; and resourceful in delivering high quality work
Ability to learn and navigate technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx and Power BI
Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation, such as a personal vehicle or public transportation
Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice
