Summary:

Assists the Quality Supervisor by performing audits and inspections to ensure standards of quality are maintained within their area of expertise.

Requirements:

Contract:

Familiar with and understands how to read design drawings, specifications, installation guides, standard work instructions, benchmarks and inspection and test plans and forms to be used to during the inspection process.

Inspecting:

Performs 100% inspections on work completed within the scope of work assigned.

Inspects applicable equipment and materials for quality.

Documents completed inspections appropriately and reviews with Quality Supervisor to assign corrective actions for work that does not meet specifications, contract requirements or installation guides.

Reporting:

Accurately documents the results of audits, inspections, and tests.

Reports results of all inspections to the Quality Supervisor.

Immediately halts unsafe work and reports safety issues to project leadership.

May initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Observations for issues of vendor non-conformance, workmanship that are reported to the Quality Supervisor for review and tracking.

QA/QC:

Performs audits and inspections in areas for which they are qualified.

Assists the Quality Coordinators in completing inspections.

Ensures that the appropriate documentation is gathered and recorded.

Works with Quality Coordinators to ensure Job Books are up to date.

Managerial Responsibilities:

Coordinates with inspectors or technicians

Safety:

Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.

Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.

Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.

Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.

Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.

Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.

Follows technical, quality and safety systems in place and determines appropriate action.

Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.

Qualifications:

HS Diploma or GED, some college preferred, or 0 – 2 years experience

Proven industrial experience performing QA/QC audits to complete the installation of large industrial/mechanical construction projects.

Preferred QA/QC audit experience within the Wind/Solar or Renewable Energy Industry.

Demonstrated ability in inspection requirements in at least one discipline (civil, mechanical, foundations, erection, turbines, electrical, etc)

Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.

Intermediate level of knowledge in:

Intermediate level of knowledge in:

General construction

Construction and inspection requirements for the scope of work being performed.

MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

Basic knowledge in:

Reading

Inspecting physical objects

Heavy equipment

Wind or Solar construction

Collection and transmission systems (as required)

Detailed Oriented

Anticipated base salary range: $21/hr. – $25/hr.

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.

Per Diem of $95.00 daily to cover lodging, meals and travel during rotation.

This position involves Heavy Work: exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
