Who is MCS? Mid-America Conversion Services (MCS) is cleaning up the environment! We manage the Depleted Uranium Hexafluoride (DUF6) Conversion Facilities at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) sites near Paducah, Kentucky and Portsmouth, Ohio. The conversion facilities were designed and constructed to convert DOE’s inventory of DUF6 produced by the former Paducah Gaseous Diffusion and the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plants to a more stable uranium oxide form for reuse, storage, and/or transportation and disposition. Position OverviewUnder general supervision responsible for supporting project or proposal planning and scheduling activities including engineering, materials management, construction, start-up and operations to support the DUF6 conversion project. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support the organization in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:Functional:Analyzes and utilizes schedule data to identify key project issuesGathers and assembles data for schedule development and updating appropriate to taskIdentifies and analyzes project schedule variancesCollects and updates data to produce scheduling reportsDevelops and maintains the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)Ensures project coding is effectively used for all cornerstone applicationsUtilizes drawings and specifications for schedule developmentTracks subcontractor performanceMeasures progress and reviews schedule performanceSupports monthly report preparationCreates and maintains baseline scheduleSupports cost analysis function through cross-trainingParticipates in planning and scheduling meetings to gain insight to planning and scheduling issuesGathers data for procedure developmentJob RequirementsMinimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction, Business or related field or equivalent 10 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required Ability to obtain and maintain a Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD-12) credential
