The role you’ll contribute:

The Clinic Operations Director (COD) implements, organizes, supervises and coordinates operation of Physician Services of Memorial Hospital in collaboration with practice physicians, mid-level providers, physician practice managers and Vice President of Physician Services. The COD assists in budget creation and oversight, ensures competency of all staff and pursues growth opportunities. Collaborates with physician practice managers to manage efficient and effective department operations, while maintaining compliance with all Joint Commission, state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols.

Customer Satisfaction

Reviews patient satisfaction scores with staff at monthly staff meetings

Discusses ways in which employees can contribute to patient satisfaction

Financial Management

Reviews monthly departmental financial statements and researches variances to budget

Reviews productivity reports as often as merited and changes staffing levels to reflect appropriate hours per unit of service.

Develops annual budget

Communication with Employees

Assures all lab staff are aware of departmental changes by communicating information by e-mail, staff meetings and memos

Regulatory Compliance

Complies with Accrediting agency (The Joint Commission, HFAP, CAP) standards to ensure the lab maintains accreditation.

Complies with CMS standards

Ensures compliance with changes made by any regulatory agency

Ensures that departmental staff complies with hospital-wide policies, as well as departmental policies.

Human Resources

Works with HR Recruiter for staffing which may include selection, screening and interviews

Ensures employees are properly oriented and trained for specific job responsibilities

Ensures initial and on-going competency is up to date

Ensures each employee is evaluated in accordance with hospital policies

Consults Human Resources for guidance in progressive counseling and terminations

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Two-year degree in Nursing or Associate degree in Business Admin

Minimum 5 years health care experience

Minimum 3 years health care leadership experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

Bachelor’s degree Nursing or Business Admin

Physician practice experience

Willing to obtain an RHC certification from the National Rural Health Association
