The specific work assignment may include duties or activities of support in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:Functional:Develops technical implementation, configuration, monitoring, audit administration, and supportPlans, assists, supports, monitors, and troubleshoots hardware and software problems pertaining to Local Area Network (LAN)Provides assistance for end user support for all applicationsWorks with multiple hardware and software platforms at an intermediate levelEnsures Information Technology computer and network security is in proper working order and that security policies are being adhered to and are in compliance with U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulationsEnsures LAN is tuned for optimum performance (i.e., delivering required information to end-users and interacting properly with Wide Area Networks)Advances the creation and maintenance of disaster recovery planProvides advance VMware working knowledge and guidance to junior System AdministratorsWorks within Active Directory and provides advanced working knowledge to improve system performanceTroubleshoots and resolves network (LAN and WLAN), PBX, VoIP, and software issuesJob RequirementsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology field or equivalent8 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is requiredPreferred CISCO experienceCisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification, Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional (MCITP) Certification, or Virtual Computing Environment (VCE) Certification, or equivalent experienceAbility to obtain and maintain a Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD-12) credential
