Global Safety Surveillance & Analysis Intern
Procter & Gamble
Job Location
Mason
Job Description
The intern would work with the GSSA epidemiologist to analyze the National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS). This is an external real-world adverse event database that has been demonstrated by P&G to look at trends of emergency room (ER) related visits due to consumer products. In the past the database has been used for laundry and autodish categories, but a large selection of P&G products may be represented in this database that have yet to be analyzed. Previous GSSA interns have characterized and outlined NEISS in the past but have not analyzed trends to resolve if ER related visits for P&G relevant products are growing. This project would attempt to categorize all products where P&G consumer goods may be represented and analyze the 10 plus years of data to resolve trends, predict future rates, and leverage AI/ML techniques to better understand how narratives can be proven to support inferences from this dataset. These techniques can then be used on internal data to better support the OUs with additional insights from internal AE data that may generate innovative ways to ensuring P&G products continue to deliver irresistible superiority.
