The Mechanical Design Engineer will report to the Advanced Combustor Diffuser Nozzle (CDN) design sub-section manager. Responsibilities and activities include supporting and contributing to the design and development of the RISE Ducted and Open Fan Program. This role will impact quality, efficiency, and execution of demonstrators for the Combustor Advanced Mechanical Design (AMD) team. This role shall be guided by professional practices and policies of GE Aerospace. The role will initially focus on future Open Fan Program demonstrator combustor hardware design, analysis and development.
This position has the flexibility of optional hybrid schedule once fully trained. The hybrid schedule consists of working in the office minimum of 3 days per week and the option to work from home on the other days, based on team/project schedules.

Roles and Responsibilities
As the Combustor Mechanical Engineer you will:
Work with a closely integrated team of engineers and scientists to design the next generation of jet engine turbomachinery.
Work closely with internal and external manufacturing organizations to deliver combustor hardware for rig and full engine testing.
Engage in efforts to solve both technical and schedule related problems.
Present work to subject matter experts and program leaders at technical reviews.
Ensure work is thoroughly documented.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering

Experience in the design, analysis, manufacture or testing of mechanical components.

Previous experience in an aerospace or mechanical engineering.
