The Project Manager Lead for Operations plans, establishes, and manages operational projects to delivery. Lead aligns projects with needs and requirements, constructs detailed project plans, achieves milestones, and communicates project progress across the stakeholder audience. Must be highly responsive to continual priority changes and a results-oriented, natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment leading complex, cross functional, high-impact projects that support PPL’s self-directed care initiative.
Responsibilities
Develop cross functional project plans including deliverables and timelines from RFP and proposal documentation.
Champion implementation of new state government programs and changes to existing programs.
Identify and mitigate risks resulting from dependencies within and between projects and functional areas.
Lead with clarity in uncertain situations, creating structure, fostering collaboration, and building consensus to drive successful project completion.
Plan capacity effectively to allocate resources and provide project guidance and direction to assigned project team members to ensure each deliverable is met for the larger project/program implementation within deadlines and project standards.
Schedule and facilitate project calls with key resources.
Onboard and train new project managers involved in operational projects.
Oversee and coordinate multiple projects across the organization, from inception to completion, ensuring deliverables are met on schedule.
Accountable for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company priorities, commitments, and goals.
Facilitate defining project scope, goals, deliverables and resource requirements.
Track project deliverables.
Manage operational aspects of a project and/or stakeholder interaction.
Conduct and facilitate regular project status meetings, communicate updates, and provide timely reports to stakeholders, including project status, challenges, risks, and resolutions.
Manage project change requests and interventions to achieve project outputs.
Responsible for project evaluations, assessment of results, documentation of lessons learned and execution of follow up actions.
Monitor internal client requests and recommend solutions to increase team efficiency.
Effectively engage colleagues and peers in the development and execution of strategies and work plans.
Comfortable holding key resources, including upper-level leadership, accountable to the project plan.
Ensure adherence to project management best practices, methodologies, and standards.
Collaborate with multiple departments and their leaders to drive processes forward.
Required Skills
Proven project management skills, including project planning, creation of the project plan, execution, monitoring, and control.
Adaptable to waterfall, agile, and hybrid project delivery.
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communicator.
Planning and organizing.
Influencing, leading and delegation.
Knowledge of Microsoft Project.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, preferably with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
4 years of experience managing complex, multi-year projects to delivery.
Prior experience in Medicaid financial management services, preferred.
Certification:
Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred. May substitute certification for applicable experience.
