Job Description

We are seeking a Level 3 Machinist Technician within the Large Power Systems Division located in our Lafayette, IN facility. The best candidates have a machining experience in boring, milling, drilling, and reaming.

Shifts:

1st = 7AM-3PM M-F

2nd = 3PM-11PM M-F

3rd = 11PM-7AM M-F

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

– Responsible for production, quality, housekeeping, and other related duties associated with the operations.

– Set up and operate machines, transport material, audit, operate wash tanks, and perform some manual operations.

– Interpret Job Instruction Sheet, Standard Work Documents, GageIt (gage tracking), CMM data, and monitor processes using Infinity.

– Work overtime as required to support manufacturing requirements.

– Troubleshoot to solve everyday problems.

– Float from one machine to another as needed.

– Manage time effectively and work well in a team environment.

The machine shop is responsible for metal cutting, drilling, grinding, and deburring parts, machining parts to blueprints/specifications, and performing quality inspections on parts.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Lafayette, Indiana.

Work Environment

Manufacturing environment – the facility is split in half between assembly and a machine shop. It is temperature-controlled throughout with a relaxed dress code, allowing sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, work pants, and jeans; leggings and sweatpants are not allowed. The facility is very clean with minimal debris, as safety is the highest priority. PPE is non-negotiable: steel or composite toe shoes, earplugs, and protective glasses are required. Earplugs and glasses are provided. Termination may occur for non-compliance with PPE requirements.
