Job Title: Corporate Quality Engineer

Summary The Quality Engineer supports new product/process development and manufacturing from a technical perspective.​ This person will handle multiple projects and tasks throughout product development, product launch and manufacturing.​ Additionally, this individual will regularly interface with the customer on complex technical matters. This role also supports plant activities regarding the selection and purchase of metrology equipment. This position supports activity at all locations in the organization

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

Takes the lead on complex quality and/or process concerns.

Participates and drives the APQP process for assigned programs. Supports the overall launch process with the core tools (FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, PPAP, etc.)

Supports the manufacturing locations with launch and customer management.

Lead communications with customers regarding technical matters.

Researches, selects and recommends metrology equipment for purchase.

Identifies and drives continual improvement activities regarding manufacturing and inspection processes.

Lead and participate in Corrective / Preventive Action teams to resolve customer, supplier and production concerns.

Utilizes the Six Sigma methodology / LEAN principles to drive improvements.

Reviews product nonconformities and makes appropriate disposition.

Participate in audits of the Core Processes, implement Corrective Actions, and recommend process improvements.

Maintains a working knowledge of government, customer, and industry standards and specifications.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelors degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
