Lead Credit Risk Officer – Consumer Lending, Corporate Risk

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Credit Risk Officer. This role aligns to the Consumer Lending Risk Analytics, Delivery and Oversight (CADO) group, reporting directly to the Risk Analytics Director of Product Management, Delivery & Execution.

The individual will leverage their experience and knowledge of risk management, business functions, products, and services to provide independent, holistic risk leadership and delivery of the businesses. In addition to primary accountability for aligned business groups, the ability to perform the following functions:

Developing, evolving, and communicating the product area vision, priorities, and strategy to key partners and stakeholders while obtaining feedback, managing risk, and ensuring regulatory and policy compliance.

Collaborate with the product managers, risk leaders, and technology on the overall delivery of the risk portfolio.

Establishing, communicating, and monitoring goals, objectives, and overall performance indicators.

Facilitating frequent collaboration between customers, stakeholders, and teams throughout the product and delivery lifecycle.

Actively owning the prioritization of the portfolio and overall backlog, aligning with consumer lending risk objectives and goals.

Identifying and optimizing various process opportunities within the operating model, related to intake, prioritization, testing, reporting, etc.

Responsible for ensuring that all known work is added to the backlog and made transparent.

In this role, you will:

Lead complex initiatives including those that are cross-functional with broad impact and act as key participant in driving the company credit culture, desire, and business performance for Credit Risk

Review and analyze complex strategies, programs and policies with a direct and significant impact on credit risk appetite and culture

Receive direction from leaders

Exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Interact with internal and external customers

Collaborate with business for oversight of risk management

Interact with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies on risk related topics.

Maintain a healthy backlog of items that are linked appropriately (Story → Feature → Epic).

Accepting user stories after they have met the acceptance criteria and the definition of done.

Actively participating in all product area events.

Identifying and resolving sequencing and prioritization conflicts across products and product areas.

Inspiring and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams.

Being available to the team to answer questions and address escalated impediments.

Maintaining continuous and cadenced communication with the product manager and delivery teams

Coordinating with business analysts, delivery coordinators, POs, and supporting roles that are shared across delivery teams.

Required Qualifications:

5 years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

5 years experience in a Product Manager or Product Delivery role

Undergraduate degree

Strong Risk Management leadership skills

Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, at all levels of the organization, including senior executive-level leadership

Ability to influence and lead organizational change in a within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members

Experience working with and leading delivery teams

Comfortable with ambiguity and facilitating discussions to explore the best possible solutions and possess the ability to lead

Experience with Agile practices and frameworks (e.g., Kanban, Scrum, etc.) and workflow and collaboration tools, such as Confluence, Jira and Jira Align
