Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Description:
Obtain authorization from appropriate personnel to pay invoices received; prepare input for invoice processing; maintain and review reports and vouchers.
Ensure that monthly state compensating tax reports are filed accurately and on time. Adjust state compensating tax records and payments as needed.
Respond to inquiries or complaints from vendors concerning AP processing. Compose, format, and type correspondence and reports for response to vendors or as needed by the supervisor.
Submit payroll information to ensure employees are paid on time and in the correct amount.
Process and monitor garnishment orders, handle employee complaints about incorrect payments, and resolve discrepancies.
Perform account reconciliations, analysis, and other duties as designated by the supervisor.
Complete assigned journal entries accurately and on time.
Meet deadlines in accordance with the month-end and year-end closing schedule.
Control and keep confidential all files for the department and company as applicable in the area and serve as a backup to accounts receivable as needed.
Required Skills:
4 years of transactional accounting analyst experience – AP analyst, credit analyst, etc.
Intermediate Excel skills
Experience in Accounting ERP, Oracle would be a plus
Job Type & Work Environment:
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s). This is a fully on-site position in Cudahy, Wisconsin. Office – cubicle environment. Sit right outside the accounting manager and directors door, with support available for working through problems. Ability to be present consistently is required. A second monitor can be supplied.
