Position Description: Develop a system (virtual and/or physical) that supports Platform solutions (this may be more than one solution – i.e. basic and premium). Develop system requirements for feature after learnings of system development. Determine values for calibratable parameters. Support the development of Component requirement documentation. Present Feature development in Architecture Requirement Reviews (ARR) – include simulations or concept. Develop Control Feature Technical Specifications (CFTS) for feature – identify calibratable parameters desired by system and range. Develop schematic in Capital Logic for generic solutions. Present Features in Preliminary Design Revie (PDR) stage and in Critical Design Revie (CDR) stage. Develop feature diagnostic and testing strategy. Develop cost and schedule studies for feature. Determine what platform elements need predevelopment. Collaborate with Off-Road Vehicle (ORV) System team to develop solution details of features desired by the team. Determine how solutions can support multiple applications through configurability and calibration. Develop feature details – block diagram, hardware required to implement, software definition. Pass requirements and concept learnings to System Architect. Release Control Feature Technical Specifications for use by programs. Develop feature validation plan for Hardware and Software. Hybrid work schedule available with manager approval; must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Polaris’ office located in Wyoming, MN.

Position Qualifications: This position requires a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering or related field, and 5 years of work experience in System design and definition or related fields. In the alternative, employer would accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering or related field, and 2 years of work experience in System design and definition or related fields. Additionally, a qualified applicant’s experience must include the following: (1) Experience with Systems Engineering Standards and best practices such as INCOSE (International Council on Systems Engineering) or ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288; (2) Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach with modeling languages such as SysML or Simulink for Use Case and Scenarios creation, State Machine Diagrams, or similar; (3) Experience generating technical documentation such as requirements, specifications, engineering reports, plans & procedures such as Design Validation Plan & Report (DVP&R) or Systems Integration Plans (SIP), or similar, per Systems Engineering best practices. (4) Experience troubleshooting complex Systems by applying 7-Step-Problem solving or similar; (5) Experience working with Cross Functional teams to distill Systems Requirements, collaborate/lead in Design Reviews, and verify Functional Behavior in final integration; (6) Application experience of Electro-Mechanical machines such as Motors, Alternators, as used under Automotive, Industrial, or similar Systems; (7) Practical experience with Electronics or Power Electronics, Microprocessors, Classical Control Theory, and Systems-Interaction under serial communications protocols such as Controller Area Network (CAN), or similar; and (8) Experience chairing or participating in systems engineering peer reviews, architecture reviews, requirements reviews, and design reviews.
