Overview

Fairview Health Services is hiring a MRI Technologist to join our Magnetic Resonance Imaging department at our M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital location in Burnsville, MN.

The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team.

M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital provides outstanding care to the Twin Cities communities located south of the river. We provide emergency services for the entire family, including pediatric emergency care for children. In addition, we offer on-site access to specialists in everything from heart and cancer care to pediatrics and sports medicine. No other care system in the Minnesota River Valley provides more access to specialty services in Burnsville, MN than Fairview Ridges Hospital.

Schedule : This is a casual (0.01 FTE) role working to support our team. Day/Evening/Nights with occassional weekends.

We are currently seeking someone who is:

A strong team-player because flexibility is needed with other team members for coverage of sick calls and vacations.

Able to multi-task, prioritize, and coordinate plans for several patients throughout the days schedule is imperative for success.

Able to have strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and an inclusive attitude as these are all very important for driving the culture of MRI safety, reporting and process improvement projects.

Able to enjoy a busy hospital with a fast-paced Emergency Department and great MRI department with friendly, competent, and hard-working coworkers.

Responsibilities Job Description

As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for:

Maintaining patient care and performing examinations.

Identifying relevant data from images accurately and communicating pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional.

Ensuring patient safety and emergency preparedness and verifying patient identification and documentation.

Communicating and educatingpatientregarding pertinent information during all aspects of the procedure.

Ensuring patient data integrity and accurately completing computer functions, edits, scheduling, billing, status changes and image transfers in a timely manner.

Participating as an active team member by orienting and mentoring new employees and students while also participating in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives.

Cleaning and maintaining rooms and supplies.

Providing integrated services with customers and care partners to ensure high quality care.

Contributing to a positive work environment.

Performing other duties as assigned:

Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines.

Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly.

Maintains a high level of competency.

Accepts new technology as it’s introduced into the facility.

Participates in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications :

Education

Vocational/ Technical training or Associate Degree

License/Certification/Registration

Current Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible with successful completion within 90 days

Meet MRI Safety Screen requirements

Experience

IV Starting experience required, willing to train

Preferred Qualifications :

License/Certification/Registration

MRI Certification or successful completion within 18 months of hire

Experience

1 or more years of experience as a technologist

Siemens scanner experience beneficial
