Responsibilities

Responsible for the management and development of staff. Provides oversight to, and is accountable for quality and service, regulatory compliance, work unit safety, strategic planning, document management, financial management and developing and implementing new services. Works cooperatively with a wide variety of customers, as well as internal and external resources. Completes special projects as assigned by the laboratory consultant/director(s), administrator and/or operations manager(s).

Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position you must meet one of the following educational and experience qualifications:

Bachelors in CLS/MLS/MT 6 Years of Clinical Laboratory Experience

Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in clinical laboratory science (CLS), medical laboratory science (MLS), or medical technology (MT)

And six years of clinical laboratory experience after obtaining the qualified bachelors degree

Bachelor MLS Certificate 6 Years of Clinical Laboratory Experience

Bachelor degree from an accredited institution

And a certificate in medical laboratory science (MLS) or another clinical laboratory specialty certificate

And six years of clinical laboratory experience after obtaining the qualified bachelors degree

Bachelors in Chemistry or a Biological Science 7 years of Clinical Laboratory Experience

Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in chemistry or biological science

And seven years of clinical laboratory experience after obtaining the qualified bachelors degree

Master 4 Years of Clinical Laboratory Experience

Master degree from an accredited institution in chemical, physical, biological. clinical laboratory science or medical technology

And four years of clinical laboratory experience after obtaining the qualified bachelors degrees listed above

Bachelors 4 Years of Laboratory or Management Experience

Bachelor degree, preferably in CLS/MLS/MT, management/business, sciences or a health-related field And four years of laboratory or management experience.

DLMP employees that have been in their current lab/position for less than 2 years must attach an early release approval from their supervisor.

Additional Qualifications

Requires CV/Resume, cover letter, and three (3) most recent performance appraisals.

May require minimal travel based on business needs.

Experience in Pathology preferred.

Ability to comfortably handle uncertainty.

Demonstrated leadership

Ability to influence and motivate others.

Described as flexible, relationship builder, conscientious, organized, independent.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. $86,673.60 – $130,104.00 per year.
