Human Resources Generalist (Hybrid in St Peter, MN)

The Human Resources Generalist will execute a wide range of HR responsibilities, providing support across the breadth of HR competencies and projects with a focus on recruiting. Areas of HR responsibility may include posting roles, reviewing applications, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, new hire onboarding, reporting, compliance activities, employee support, training support, payroll, and benefits administration. As well as projects and process execution in support of Scholarship America staff. Position Expectations: Staffing: Assists with recruitment and staffing efforts for exempt and non-exempt roles, and temporary employees (requisition maintenance, job postings, resume, and candidate screening, scheduling of interviews, conducting background checks, notifying candidates of recruitment status, contacting professional references, coordinating onboarding experiences with hiring managers). Prepare and conduct new employee HR orientation schedules and materials. Oversees the process of onboarding independent contractors and temporary staff to ensure adherence to policies and practices. Prepare separation/termination details, as necessary, to include calculation and processing of final payroll payment, coordination of change with COBRA Administrator, cancelation of benefits with vendors, and coordination with manager for off-boarding processes, etc. Process verifications of employment as requested. Facilitates organizational onboarding program. Compliance and Reporting Execution of compliance-related research and/or projects. Assist with filing, status updates, auditing, and/or reporting when needed. Assist with monthly reporting activities and updating key metrics. Track required compliance and training activities. Human Resources Information System (HRIS): Ensure data integrity of HRIS. Data entry for employee data, staffing requisitions, and system configuration. Performs payroll administration including data entry as well as all necessary steps associated with auditing and processing payroll. Additionally, processes all necessary documentation to respond to staff questions, audits, and any other compliance-related requests. HR Administration: Process new employee payroll and benefit paperwork. Maintain and ensure compliant employee personnel files. Maintains company organization chart for staff and business reference. Administers benefits programs in partnership with identified partners and communicates benefits information to employees. Responds to workers compensation claims and works with third-party administrator. Coordinate COBRA and Flexible Benefits Plan administration with third-party administrator. Prepare and execute wellbeing activities or communications Other support activities Facilitate quarterly service awards process. Assist in the plan and execution of various employee events intended to engage and recognize staff, both onsite and virtually. Special administrative and general HR projects as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Minimum of 2 years experience working in a human resources department or equivalent specific HR-related training/education. A motivated and responsible self-starter who takes direction well and can work independently in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines and quality standards. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, effectively, and cooperatively with other people in a results-driven environment. Ability to work in a confidential environment with strong interpersonal skills to display a high level of empathy, fairness, and discretion. Ability to work efficiently and cooperatively with a diverse population of people across all functions and levels within the organization. Strong listening skills to understand information and ideas presented (in-person and virtually). Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Highly organized with strong attention to detail in order to produce the highest quality work, i cluding follow-up and follow-through. Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Creative thinker and problem solver. Ability to work in Saint Peter, MN office (potentially weekly during core business hours) and travel to Bloomington, MN as needed. Preferred Requirements: Prior hands-on experience with recruiting. Prior experience working with an HRIS/payroll system, ADP preferred. Bachelors degree, preferably in Human Resources. Full Pay range: Exempt ($57,100 – $71,400 – $85,700) This is the pay range for our staff in this position, from entry to fully independent and proficient in the role utilizing our propriety systems and processes. The candidate selected for this position will be offered a wage applicable to their background and skill set as aligned to our business. This will result in an initial offer between $57,100 – $71,400 annually for this position.
