POSITION SUMMARY
The Vocational Support Specialist will assist individuals with
disabilities to learn the skills to secure and retain competitive
community-based employment. Utilizes structured intervention techniques
to help an individual learn to perform job tasks to the employers
specifications and necessary interpersonal skills to adjust to the work
environment. In addition to job-site training, employment coaching
includes related employment preparation tasks such as travel training,
advocacy, and other services needed to maintain employment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform
each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be
made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential
functions.
Adheres to AFPS, DDDS, DVR, State of Delaware policies and procedures.
Observes and maintains HIPPA compliance in all record keeping.
Meet with employer/work-site supervisor to ascertain job duties and
employee daily work shift responsibilities.
Participating in activities related to an individual under the direct
guidance of an assigned Career Coordinator/Manager/Supervisor.
Directly at work site, provide employment coaching assistance to
individuals, in their learning style, to learn specific job duties and
adjust to work environment.
Observe an individuals work performance and offer support as necessary
to improve workflow and behaviors for a person to achieve
employer/company expectations.
Ongoing contact with employer/supervisor for feedback as to employees
performance.
Complete necessary paperwork for funders and to bill service accurately
and in a timely manner.
Public assistance transportation training prior to job placement, as
necessary. (Including new employment)
Transportation of supported individuals, workers in your personal
vehicle, as applicable.
In the absence of an individual, assume their job task and duties in
completion to meet contract standards as outlined in the Scope of Work
as required.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Develops and maintains skills through in-service and training seminars.
80% of time spent must be related to billable activity.
Participates in staff meetings.

Perform other related duties as assigned to support the program needs.
