Job Summary:

As a Shipping Supervisor, you will guarantee that our shipping operation runs efficiently. You will be active on the warehouse floor, walking the aisles and docks to coach your team and proactively address areas of opportunity. You will operate in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment, ensuring that safety and efficiency standards are not compromised.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise warehouse operations including but not limited to selection, replenishment, loading, checking, shipping, and safety processes in a cold perishable and freezer warehouse environment.

Ensure all outbound product (on dock and live loads in yard) is “club ready”, at proper product temperature, and results are documented in WMS ensuring quality of products is never compromised

Ensure trucks are loaded properly and safely

Ensure all pallets are tagged and recorded appropriately

Manage Incident Rate (OIR) and Lost Time Incident Rate (LTI) by monitoring sanitation, safe working conditions, ensuring safety policies are followed, holding pre-shift meetings and proper usage of material handling equipment

Monitor/audit daily for GMP, COOL, HAACP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and other food safety guidelines

Account for any inventory losses/product shrink

Review and act based on daily and weekly APT and Utilization reports to ensure acceptable levels of performance are maintained

Collect/analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and solutions

Participate in the hiring process to include interviews, selection, etc.

Onboarding, retention, and training

Conductsperformance reviews for team members

Provides input to manager regarding promotions and terminations

Crosstrain in all shipping team positions to stay current on duties, training and reaching minimum productivity levels

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience preferred

2 years related warehouse experience preferred

Supervisory experience in a warehouse environment preferred

Experience operating Material Handling Equipment preferred Skills & Qualifications

Handle and prioritize requests from multiple sources

Ability to apply strong math skills that result in identification of opportunities and justify action plan recommendations

Ability to provide clear and constructive feedback, coaching, and counseling

Accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to take directions using the headset selection system (such as VoCollect)

Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the customer to include nights, weekends, and holidays

Environmental Job Conditions:

Sit, stand, walk bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in a refrigerated warehouse environment

Grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a hand truck) on a frequent basis

Endurance for continuous, fast paced work

Fluctuating temperatures and withstand freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit

Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, harness, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc.)

Products may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)

Utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, forklift, reach truck, etc.)

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $55,000.00.
